Face it, pandemic fashion has been the equivalent of style roadkill — a months-long blur of comfy sweats, well-worn T-shirts and ratty old slippers.

Now — as the COVID-19 vaccine rollouts have sparked an anticipation that office life may return in the coming months — THR spoke with a selection of style experts who cater to the town’s creative and executive class about their new work-from-home must-haves. These are pieces that could make the transition to offices — even though for many people right now, “it’s hard to muster up the energy to put together a full look when you’re just going to walk five steps to your kitchen table to do a meeting,” says stylist Andrew Gelwicks (@andrewgelwicks), who works with women behind the camera as well as actresses Catherine O’Hara and Jo Ellen Pellman.

As executive style consultant Stephanie Gisondi-Little (@composed_co) sees it, the current moment is all about items that can take WFH comfort back to the office: “I feel like no one is going back to very uncomfortable clothes, period — with the exception of a few folks who love their heels.”

What wardrobe consultant Andrea Lublin is “really big on” is “the new housedress. Kotsiopoulos has been buying up vintage ’80s pleated men’s styles from The Real Real: “They’re super comfortable for lounging on the sofa too,” he says, adding. “I’ve been re-watching Cheers, and Ted Danson is my new style icon.”

And Gisondi-Little (whose clients include writer-producer Ann Cherkis and producer Rachel Kaplan) likes Celine’s high-waisted flared jeans: “They’re more comfortable and you can still celebrate the fact that you have a waist,” she says. “With a turtleneck, they’re so good, so Brooke Shields in the eighties.” Celine’s Dylan Flared Jeans in Union Wash Denim; $890, at
